After a chemistry engineer diploma obtained in 2000 at the «Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris» (France), Anne Descours moved to the University of Zurich (Switzerland) where she obtained her PhD in 2004 in the field of peptide chemistry applied to serine protease inhibitors and malaria vaccine. She then joined the Department of Protein Engineering of the CEA of Saclay (France) until recently directed by Prof. André Ménez. There she worked for 3 years as a biochemistry researcher on an FP6-funded project developing anti-HIV microbicides.

After a few month stay as a scientific consultant in a consulting firm in Paris specialised in research management, she finally joined the Toxinomics Foundation in August 2007. Dr Anne Descours is now in charge of the communication and education at the Foundation and will also be involved in intellectual property protection and industrialisation processes.
