Renée Ménez-Gouésin's PhD thesis was in chemical physics (Rayleigh light scattering). Then she specialised in X ray scattering and 3D protein structure determination.
She isolated and characterised the first recombinant neurotoxin (erabutoxin, 1994), solved and refined the muscarinic toxin 2 structure and determined the 3D model of various toxins and mutants.
She also worked on antibodies, for detection or therapy, in different pharmaceutical compagnies and published recently the structure of human prostate-specific antigen (PSA).
