Reto Stöcklin
is an entrepreneur. He obtained his doctoral degree in medical biochemistry in the laboratories of Prof. Keith Rose and Prof. Robin Offord in the Faculty of Medicine of Geneva in 1994. He specialised in protein chemistry, mass spectrometry, proteomics and biocomputing. He innovated techniques of pharmacokinetics and metabolic studies of polypeptides by mass spectrometry. In parallel, he developed a unique database on venomous animals and their venoms and initiated toxinology studies and discovery programs.

Stöcklin is the owner and head of Atheris Laboratories, a company he founded in Geneva in 1995, which focuses primarily on research and development in life sciences. Over the years, Atheris has developed a unique discovery platform that allows for extremely fast and targeted drug discovery projects.

Dr Stöcklin is also founder and president of “ FunZyme BioTechnologies S.A.”, a recently created innovative biotech company aimed at exploiting original enzymes of fungal origins. He co-founded the Swiss Proteomics Society and is a member of its Executive Committee.
